Psalm 137 "Should I ever forgot you, O Jerusalem" https://youtu.be/WKNLwpviM5s Psalm 137   King James Version (KJV) 137  By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. 2  We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. 3  For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. 4  How shall we sing the  Lord 's song in a strange land? 5  If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. 6  If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. 7  Remember, O  Lord , the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof. 8  O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. 9...

The Worcester Fire of '00 The Perfect Fire It started with a candle in an abandoned warehouse. It ended with temperatures above 3,000 degrees and the men of the Worcester Fire Department in a fight for their lives. BY  SEAN FLYNN MAR 9, 2017 This article  originally appeared  in July '00 issue of Esquire. It's not so much a bell, really, as an electronic horn, short and shrill. When it goes off, firefighters freeze and listen for the sound that comes next. Usually, only words follow. "Engine 1," the dispatcher might say—or "Engine 8" or "Ladder 5," but only one truck—before reciting an address and a task. One tone signals a medical run or some minor emergency, like going out to stabilize a car-crash victim or a coronary case until an ambulance arrives, breaking a toddler out of a locked-up Taurus, or squirting water on a flaming car. Milk runs. Sometimes, maybe every fifth time, a second tone will follow the first...

So, simple socialism isn't that different than the democratic party that we have now.  The primary difference is the willingness to engage is judicial and legislative activism to redistribute wealth or nationalize industries. The British school systems are socialist by including a spending equity plan between counties compared to the U.S. system that largely re...

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/01/us/politics/trump-impeachment-trial.html " The president’s Democratic adversaries rolled out the biggest constitutional weapon they had and failed to defeat him, or even to force a full trial with witnesses testifying to the allegations against him. Now Mr. Trump, who has said that the Constitution  “allows me to do whatever I want”  and pushed so many boundaries that curtailed past presidents ,  has little reason to fear the legislative branch nor any inclination to reach out in conciliation." I think the desire to make the Presidency a highly packaged deal, to penalize talking and free speech, enters into this case.   It is to the national advantage that the President "speaks softly and carries a big stick."  This is clearly better than the wild variety of Donald Trump.  However, that isn't and wasn't Mr. Donald Trump, a businessman and television personality among other things. Thus, I think the New York T...

Q: "What Was It You Wanted" by Bob Dylan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beBNwWqHKYc Am I being visited by the "Angel Moroni", a propitious sign or a real entity to prevent or escape disaster. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/manual/primary-5-doctrine-and-covenants-and-church-history/lesson-3?lang=eng Q: "What Was It You Wanted" by Bob Dylan Q1: Are there stupid angels?  I suppose but names mean a lot of things.  The angel who ran... Slang usage suggest a moran. In contrast to the Temptation of Christ, an Angel "Moroni" appeared to the boy Joseph Smith.  Perhaps it suggest the angel who visited Mary or Elizabeth. Joseph and his family studied the Holy Bible regularly and were deeply devout.  Their farm was near Palmyra, NY which is now a place of pilgrimage outside of Rochester, NY. The scripture from the Book of Morman History 1:27-53 Summary Heading Moroni appears to Joseph Smith --Joseph's name is to be known for good a...

"When The Leaves Come Falling Down" Van Morrison

Whether Bob Dylan personally has earned the right lately to have an attitude about deceit and hypocrisy is eclipsed by his expressing it so well.  A great artist does express our sentiments as well as his own, and so he has in fact earned this right. "What was it you wanted when you were kissing my cheek?" and this song in general expresses my resentments towards a couple of people.  However, without other people being more supportive either publicly or privately against these idiots I don't think I will dignify their abuse by describing it further. www.bobdylan.com What Was It You Wanted? WRITTEN BY: BOB DYLAN What was it you wanted? Tell me again so I’ll know What’s happening in there What’s going on in your show What was it you wanted Could you say it again? I’ll be back in a minute You can get it together by then What was it you wanted You can tell me, I’m back We can start it all over Get it back on the track You got my attention Go ah...

Usually without why, I don't think that something is worth knowing.  "The unexamined life is not worth living" [Socrates] is also one of my mottoes.  But not about some things, life, love, why things fall apart, etc. simply aren't reducible to knowledge and experience. Surprisingly, I couldn't get this song out of my head all this week.  This song "I Can't Tell You Why" was originally by the Eagles. "Every time I try to walk away, something makes me turn around and stay.  I can't tell you why" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzNJT1jKeL0
